Lyman Caswell Obituary

In Memoriam – Lyman R. Caswell (1928-2023)

Lyman was a past president of our society.  His collecting interest was in Hungarian postage due stamps.  He won numerous awards with his exhibits of this back-of-the-book specialty.  He was also a member of the Hungarian philatelic organization, Mafitt.

Lyman received BS and MS degrees from Indiana University as well as a PhD in Philosophy from Michigan State University.  He taught chemistry at multiple colleges throughout his career.  He was a member of the American Chemical Society.  He blended his career with his hobby and published research article such as the one about analyzing the color of the Szeged overprints. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Ruth and children Lyman Randolph, Timothy Omar, and Amy.  Our condolences go out to his family.  (CLK)
