THE ‘MAGYAR TANÁCSKÖZTÁRSASÁG’ OVERPRINT ISSUE
Both sides of an official post card from the treasury department of the City of Sopron indicating that the recipient was eligible for a voucher for 2 cubic metres of firewood if he showed up between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. on July 26, 1919. The card is correctly franked with the 10f value from the ‘MAGYAR TANÁCSKÖZTÁRSASÁG’ overprint issue used as a provisional postage due stamp. The recipients of official mail were responsible for paying the regular rates for such items as postage due, but without any penalty (from the collection of Johan Sevenhuijsen).
